The Washington Commanders have named Mark Clouse as the team’s new President, where he will oversee all aspects of the franchise’s business operations.

Clouse informed his company of the news.
“This evening, I announced my plan to retire from The Campbell’s Company at the end of January and transition with the incoming CEO over the next two months. I’d like to congratulate Mick Beekhuizen on becoming the 15th CEO in Campbell’s 155-year history. One of the most significant responsibilities a leader has is to plan for their eventual departure and have great leaders ready to step up and maintain the momentum in the organization. Mick will be fantastic in doing that and more.“

Clouse, who will step into the role in late January, joins the Commanders after a successful tenure as President and CEO of Campbell’s, where he led the company through a major transformation. Under his leadership, Campbell’s saw impressive growth across its iconic portfolio, which includes brands like Goldfish, Pepperidge Farm, and Rao’s.
“We are excited to welcome Mark as our new President,” said Josh Harris, Managing Partner of the Washington Commanders. “Mark is a proven leader with a remarkable track record of driving organizational excellence and building brands that resonate with consumers. His experience, both as a military veteran and business builder, aligns perfectly with our vision for the Commanders. Mark is committed to using the power of our franchise to unite fans and strengthen our community, and I am confident in his ability to elevate our organization and support our pursuit of excellence on the field.”
Clouse brings over 30 years of leadership experience to his new role. A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, he served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter pilot and earned the rank of captain before transitioning into the corporate world. His career includes senior leadership positions at Kraft Foods, Mondelēz, and Pinnacle Foods before his appointment as CEO of Campbell’s in 2019.
“Joining the Washington Commanders is an incredible honor, and I’m grateful to Josh Harris and the ownership group for this opportunity,” Clouse said. “The Commanders’ passionate fanbase deserves a championship-caliber organization, and I’m committed to working with the ownership group, Adam Peters, and Dan Quinn to bring that vision to life. We are here to build something special that will make our fans proud and continue to elevate this historic franchise.”
Clouse’s leadership at Campbell’s included a comprehensive strategic overhaul that not only strengthened the company’s market position but also fostered a thriving, engaged workforce. Throughout his career, Clouse has been known for driving growth, building strong brands, and creating lasting positive impacts on the communities he’s served.
Clouse and his wife, Kathy, have two sons, Spenser and Logan.
