Indiana Fever Part Ways with Head Coach Christie Sides

INDIANAPOLIS – In a significant move as they continue to reshape their roster, the Indiana Fever announced on Sunday that they have parted ways with head coach Christie Sides. This decision comes after two seasons at the helm, during which Sides navigated the challenges of a critical transition period for the franchise.

Fever President of Basketball Operations Kelly Krauskopf expressed gratitude for Sides’ contributions, stating, “We are incredibly thankful to Coach Sides for embracing the challenge of leading us through an integral transition period over the last two seasons, while also positioning us well for future growth.” Krauskopf emphasized the need for bold decisions in pursuit of the team’s goals, particularly the aim to bring another WNBA championship to Indiana. She noted Sides’ dedication to the team and community, wishing her success in future endeavors.

During her tenure, Sides compiled a 33-47 record, reflecting the growing pains of a franchise in development. However, her leadership shone through as she guided the Fever to their first postseason appearance since 2016 and fostered the growth of back-to-back WNBA Rookies of the Year, Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark. Notably, Sides made history by becoming the first coach in Fever history to earn the WNBA Coach of the Month honor in August 2024. As the team moves forward, the search for a new head coach will be crucial in continuing the Fever’s journey toward championship aspirations.
