The 2025-2026 NFL season features a highly competitive landscape with the Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions, and Baltimore Ravens leading the pack. The Eagles remain elite with a deep, healthy roster and a strong draft class, though they had a few key defensive losses and a tougher schedule awaits. The Chiefs, powered by Mahomes and a retooled receiving corps, continue to be Super Bowl favorites, while the Bills maintain a balanced roster around Allen despite some defensive turnover. Buffalo needs to get Cook signed to be successful. Detroit’s potent offense and improved defense make them a serious NFC contender, and Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson-led team boasts a dominant run game and a solid defense despite some losses. The Pittsburgh Steelers, energized by Aaron Rodgers, DK Metcalf, Jalen Ramsey, and Jonnu Smith, sit high in the rankings but face uncertainty with T.J. Watt’s unsigned status, which could impact their pass rush and defensive dominance.

The Washington Commanders and Los Angeles Rams continue their upward trajectories with young talent and healthy quarterbacks, while the Houston Texans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers showcase dynamic offenses led by promising QBs and strong skill positions. Denver’s elite defense and Sean Payton’s system provide a solid foundation, Bo Nix was amazing last year though their offensive consistency will remain a question until we see it again. Green Bay looks to Jordan Love’s development amid young weapons and an improving offensive line, while Minnesota’s rookie QB McCarthy benefits from a revamped offensive line and a strong skill group, though they face a challenging schedule. The 49ers still possess talent but must navigate key defensive losses and depth concerns, and Atlanta’s improved 1-2 QB play and Bijan Robinson’s emergence elevate their competitiveness.

Cincinnati’s healthy Burrow and strong receiving corps contrast with some defensive depth losses and lack of signing of Hendrickson who is key, while Indianapolis benefits from a tough receiving corp, healthy Richardson and an improving defense. Don’t be surprised by a brilliant run game in Indy. Chicago embarks on year two of an era with Caleb Williams and upgraded wide receivers, though their defense remains young. The Los Angeles Chargers, under Jim Harbaugh’s second year, show promise with Justin Herbert’s continued growth and rookie running back Omarion Hampton’s addition, but questions linger at wide receiver and offensive line. Arizona’s young roster, led by Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison Jr., continues to develop, while the Las Vegas Raiders find stability at quarterback with Geno Smith but still struggle defensively.

Dallas faces a tough schedule after losing defensive starters but retains a potent offense. Carolina’s Bryce Young gains more weapons as their defense develops, and Seattle transitions with Sam Darnold starting and rookie Jalen Milroe waiting in the wings. The Jacksonville Jaguars’ outlook brightens considerably with rookie Travis Hunter joining Trevor Lawrence, adding explosive playmaking that could push them toward a playoff berth despite lingering defensive questions. New England undergoes a major roster overhaul with 2nd year quarterback Drake Maye improving, maintaining competitiveness largely through their defense. The New York Jets place their hopes on Justin Fields, whose consistency and offensive line health will be critical, while the New York Giants rely on veteran Russell Wilson amid concerns about offensive line and receiving depth.

Tennessee’s rebuilding effort centers on rookie quarterback Cam Ward and promising young talent, though expectations are tempered. Miami struggles with Tua Tagovailoa’s health concerns, roster depth, and a regressing defense. Cleveland’s aging roster and quarterback instability leave them near the bottom, unable to lean on defense as before. Finally, the New Orleans Saints enter a full rebuild with a rookie quarterback likely to start following Derek Carr’s retirement, compounded by an aging defense and significant injuries. Overall, the 2025-2026 season promises to be shaped heavily by offseason signings, player health, and the ability of new acquisitions to integrate quickly, with strength of schedule and injury luck playing pivotal roles in determining which teams can rise and which will fall short of expectations.
