Bears Get Preseason Victory Over the Bengals

Caleb Williams had a notable performance in today’s preseason game, contributing significantly to the Chicago Bears’ 27-3 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

In Saturday’s preseason matchup, the Chicago Bears defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 27-3, with Caleb Williams playing a pivotal role. Initially, the Bears’ offense, led by Williams, struggled to find rhythm, experiencing three consecutive three-and-outs. The momentum shifted when rookie Rome Odunze executed a 16-yard end-around play, setting the stage for a more dynamic offensive drive.

Williams then capitalized on a defensive pass interference call on a deep pass to Tyler Scott, advancing the Bears into the red zone and leading to their first field goal. Later, a 45-yard pass from Williams to Odunze brought the Bears back into scoring position. Although Odunze narrowly missed securing a touchdown due to stepping out of bounds, Williams soon showcased his mobility by scrambling for a 7-yard rushing touchdown.

Defensively, the Bears were aggressive, executing 10 blitzes against Bengals’ third-string quarterback Logan Woodside, resulting in two interceptions. This comprehensive performance highlighted both the offensive and defensive strengths of the Bears as they prepare for the upcoming season.
