Inspired by his father, former NBA player Dell Curry, young Stephen began playing basketball at an early age. However, during his teenage years, his relatively modest height of 6 feet (1.80 m) kept him from receiving significant college scholarship offers.
Today, we remember him surpassing all of the odds stacked against him, and achieving his and Team USA’s Gold Medal performance just days back! Dell and Sonya Curry’s talented son, Stephen Curry, has indeed made a name for himself in the basketball world as an absolute legend of the game. From his early days playing for the AAU Charlotte Stars and Charlotte Christian School, to his college basketball career at Davidson College, and on to the NBA with the Golden State Warriors, Stephen has proven himself to be a force of nature.
Known as Ayesha Curry’s husband, and the father of four children (hence the Olympic jersey number): Riley, Ryan, Cannon and Caius, ‘The Shooter’, and ‘The Chef’ for his incredible shooting skills, ability to cook up delicious meals, AND cook his opponents, Stephen is a true “best ever” sharp shooter!
