Deion Sanders has signed a reported five-year, $54 million contract extension with Colorado, making him one of the highest-paid coaches in the country. After leading the team to a 9-4 record and a trip to the Alamo Bowl in 2024, Sanders’ new deal, approved by the school’s board of regents, reflects his transformative impact on the program.
“Coach Prime has revolutionized college football and restored CU to its rightful place as a national power,” said Colorado athletic director Rick George. “This extension recognizes his incredible accomplishments and ensures he remains in Boulder to compete for conference and national championships.”
Under the terms of the deal, Sanders will earn $10 million in 2025 and 2026, $11 million in 2027 and 2028, and $12 million in the final year of the contract, according to Brian Howell of the Boulder Daily Camera.
